Our Process

DealerOn Implementation Website Build Process

Our website process varies based on the OEM, but most sites are built between 30-60 days. This timeline is subject to dealer responsiveness/engagement.

Phase One: Website Setup

During the setup phase, a large amount of info and data will be collected. This all starts with Onboarding. Take your time filling these forms out. The info provided on them will be very important for us to complete the build.

Next, we will conduct our first conference call to discuss the entire website build. During this call we will discuss everything from the homepage design to inventory setup. This is the best time to discuss any special requests/notes with your Project Coordinator.

Also during this phase, several background processes will take place. As part of these background processes, we will analyze your current website(s) for custom content that should be migrated. To help with this, provide a detailed list of the pages you want migrated on the General Onboarding Form.

We also prefer to finalize the setup for your DNS during this phase. We like to have this completed early to avoid any delay at the end of the build. Please work closely with your Project Coordinator to get this all set-up.

Lastly, we will work directly with our Design Team to create your homepage design.

Phase Two: Website Review

Once the homepage design and inventory orders are completed, we will send you a staging URL. This URL will remain active as long as you have a website with DealerOn. All updates and changes can be viewed on it. We will also use it to review the site with you.

After a review call is completed we will focus on website edits. This will give use time to get any edits or changes completed. When the edits are completed the new site will be sent to you, and any OEM or program compliance teams for final review. Any additional edits that come in after the review phase may not be completed until after the site is live, otherwise, this may postpone the launch of the site.

Phase Three: Launch Preparation

The final week before launch will be focused on a full sweep by our quality assurance team. This sometimes includes a full site lead test(dependent on program guidelines).

We will also use this last week to share a training video on how to use the DealerOn Content Management System (CMS). This will show you all of the ins and outs of the CMS.

We will also reach out to you for final authorization of the website launch.

Launches normally take place Monday-Thursday during the week. However, sometimes program guidelines change these launch days. Your Project Coordinator will make sure you are informed of these timelines.

On launch day, your Project Coordinator will keep you up to date with the progress of the launch. Keep in mind propagation and caching may prevent you from seeing the new website for some time after it's been set live. Contact your Project Coordinator with any questions.

Phase Four: Post Launch

Shortly after your Project Coordinator confirms your new site is live, they will begin all of the final processes needed to complete the build. You'll be given any new contact information for your Support team. They will also take care of a few back-end processes such as setting up any exports, granting your team CMS access and setting up Google Search Console for the new site.

Your Project Coordinator will also bring your Support team up to speed with anything that's still in progress for the build. They will remain in contact until all previous website build requests are completed.
