Tips For A Successful Implementation

  1. Be prepared to be available and provide consistent communication with your DealerOn Project Coordinator (PC). Lots of information is needed for the website build and providing your Project Coordinator with quick and thorough answers will go a long way towards finishing the build quickly.
  2. Complete the Onboarding forms as quickly as you can. The information you provide on the Onboarding Forms will assist your Project Coordinator with building out your site quickly, efficiently and accurately.
  3. Be prepared for Inventory related questions. Specifically surrounding new/used/photos/pricing.
  4. Determine what custom content specifically needs to be migrated over that is important to you and your dealership. What content is outdated and you are willing to let go of? DealerOn will bring over 10 custom pages free of charge! If you are unsure, your PC will happily review your Google Analytics to make recommendations.
  5. Come prepared with ideas for your homepage design choice from our Showcase Sites. All of our homepage designs are set up to perform well. Think about what is important to your Dealership's success so that we can focus on those aspects to drive conversion.
  6. Make a list of all 3rd party products that you currently utilize (Chat, Service Scheduler, Finance Application, CarFax, AutoCheck, Digital Retailing). Many of these products the dealership group will need to work with the provider directly to receive implementation instructions. You may also need to let these services know that you are changing website providers so that they will properly function as well.
  7. Make sure you have access to your DNS Registrar (GoDaddy, Network Solutions, etc). Make sure that you are able to login, locate your primary domain, and have permissions to make DNS changes to domains. Depending on your comfort level, pointing a new website live can be scary. Your DealerOn Project Coordinator is more than happy to walk you through this process with a member of our IT team, or our IT team is willing to log into your registrar and make the updates on your behalf.
  8. Create a list of all CRM email addresses. What format does your CRM provider prefer (ADF, XML, Plain Text). Think about who within your business needs to be notified on what. Once we receive that list and what format to send we can take it from there.
  9. Come prepared with (realistic) launch dates, keeping in mind DealerOn's builds are 30-45 calendar days. Your adherence to timelines and commitments required when providing DealerOn feedback for the new website build will help keep the website build on track.
  10. Remember to embrace change! DealerOn is not the same as your current provider, nor do we want to be. You are probably changing website providers because something was not working for you previously, or you are looking for better results. Trust in your DealerOn Project Coordinator that our best practices will lead to success.
  11. All of the above will help prepare you to thoroughly complete our Onboarding Forms. The more thorough your Onboarding Forms are, the more efficient your Project Coordinator can be.
